The first few episodes of WattCarbon’s Podcast will feature interviews with our team members. We wanted you to get to know the team behind the scenes and give them a chance to talk about their work and their varied career paths. If you’ve recently applied for one of our software engineering job openings, you’ll recognize Steve’s name as the point person on the search. Steve has helped our company define its unique workplace culture and craft official policies codifying how we organize our work.
For example, we design our engineering sprints around the goal of a 32 hour work week. We’re a startup with six employees, so the goal remains aspirational in many weeks, but having the goal provides a north star for setting expectations and living within our means. Steve has been instrumental in helping us formulate internal policies and processes that support this goal.
We also encourage our employees to pursue interests outside of work. Steve shared with us some of his side projects, including building software that helps hold landlords accountable for poor treatment of tenants. Listen to the full podcast here to learn more about Steve and his work at WattCarbon.
