Introducing Neil Williams

We might be getting the hang of this podcasting thing. Or not, you be the judge. But this week we welcomed Neil Williams into the recording studio for a candid conversation about failed astronaut dreams, crossword puzzle addictions, and parental influences.

Neil joined WattCarbon after spending a decade at Reddit where he learned just about every imaginable trick required to scale a software platform hosting tens of millions of simultaneous conversations. Now he does things like automating a data pipeline for ingesting and storing the hourly carbon emissions for every grid in the United States on a nightly basis.

Somehow we managed to refrain from making any AMA jokes the entire time we interviewed Neil, but I hope you’ll enjoy learning a bit more about him as much as we did.
